A New Day For DC
It Takes All of Us
Meet Janeese
The daughter of a union postal worker, Janeese Lewis George is a third-generation Washingtonian and a proud graduate of DC Public Schools and Howard University Law School. She serves as Councilmember of Ward 4, where she lives with her husband Kyle, son Pierce, and dog Sully.
Janeese has a clear and consistent track record of putting people first, including when she fought to cap new rent increases for tenants and raise the wages of childcare workers. As Mayor, Janeese will continue to side with everyday Washingtonians over well-connected political insiders and use the full power of government to lower costs and make it easier for families to thrive in the District.
People-First Movement
Janeese secured a historic victory with the support of tens of thousands of people who shared her vision for a government that can deliver both basic services and transformational change.
